My magazine uses conventions which are in real music magazines, because it uses the same colours all the way through, the same fonts, there is a bar code and price clearly visible on the front cover, plugs laid out clearly on the front cover and easy to read with the name of the magazine at the top and bigger than everything else. Inside the magazine there are articles and the main one is an interview with a star! there are adverts and pages telling readers about festivals and gigs and all the information they need. There is a contents page telling where the readers can go to read about what they want. Then at the end of the magazine there is a competition. On the front cover there is a clearly stated email address which the reader can log on to, to take part in games and more competitions. The most important convention is that there are pictures, on the front cover the picture of the artist being interviewed, and on the double page spread pictures of the same artist from the front cover.
This is one of the magazine front covers that i deconstructed, I liked this front cover because I like the layout of the plugs, anchorage and tag line. Also the colours help it stand out on the shelves, having a black background and bright orange writing, this attracts readers, and makes them see it first as it will stand out from the rest.
This is another front cover that I deconstructed, I deconstructed this because I thought it was interesting how it came with a free CD. This would encourage people to buy the magazine because if they like that band then they could read about them at the same time as listening to them! Also the plugs stand out clearly for the buyer, and the pose of the artist on the front makes you wonder what the article is about, which would intrigue you more to buy it.I also deconstructed the contents pages and double page spread articles about the front cover artist, from both of these magazines.
